Course Description

This course provides church leaders, staff, and volunteers with a foundational understanding of liability issues related to ministry operations, volunteer service, and safety/security teams. Churches carry both spiritual and legal responsibilities, and it is essential to understand how insurance regulations, risk management, and liability protections apply in various ministry contexts. This class will explore the relationship between church liability and personal liability, clarify the role of insurance coverage, and highlight best practices for protecting both the church and its volunteers. Special attention will be given to the unique responsibilities of safety and security teams, as well as the importance of policies, training, and accountability in minimizing risk.
