In this seminar we take a comprehensive approach to situational awareness and will learn to identify different situations worthy of further attention and/or intervention.  You will walk away feeling empowered with the knowledge and tools needed to maintain a safe environment.

Course Description

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to situational awareness, focusing on the ability to perceive, understand, and respond effectively to one’s environment. You will learn how to identify potential risks, recognize early warning signs, and make informed decisions about when and how to intervene. Through interactive discussions, real-world scenarios, and practical exercises, the course equips learners with the tools to enhance personal safety, improve decision-making, and foster a proactive mindset for all environments.

Course Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Define situational awareness and explain its importance in personal and professional contexts.

  • Identify the three levels of situational awareness: perception, comprehension, and projection.

  • Recognize environmental cues and behavioral indicators that may signal potential risks or threats.

  • Apply strategies to maintain awareness in dynamic or high-stress environments.

  • Distinguish between situations that require observation, avoidance, or intervention.

  • Develop decision-making skills to determine appropriate responses while prioritizing safety.

  • Practice techniques to reduce distractions and improve focus in daily life.

  • Build confidence in applying situational awareness principles to enhance personal safety and support the well-being of others.
